Creativity and Innovation in Tourism Development

Prijswinnaars #WYDSITB

The first pilot of #WYDSITB has just recently rounded off with a great closing event at NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences. The winning teams of ROC Mondriaan Den Haag, de Rooi Pannen Tilburg and de Rooi Pannen Breda have been awarded with a travel cheque and travel kit from Arke.

#WYDSITB is a project designed for vocational training students in tourism and aims to create awareness among these students, in their capacity as future travel agents, on issues related to responsible tourism. The project combines participatory workshops with a social media challenge. Students are asked to design and promote a travel package to their friends, making use of texts, images, photos, video etc. that you usually won’t find in a travel brochure. These ‘alternative’ travel packages will be developed online in a virtual travel agency (VTA) and subsequently shared. For an overview of the created travel products we would like to refer to the platform website and the WYDSITB Facebook community page.

#WYDSITB is a concept of Atelier on Tourism Development in partnership with TUI Netherlands, Arke, Rooi Pannen Ondernemersonderwijs, ROC Mondriaan, and EA Evenementen. Contact us for more info or go to the #WYDSITB section on this site (in Dutch).
